SUMMARY:BSA Climbing / COPE Instructors Course
DESCRIPTION:Overnight Training for BSA Climbing/COPE Level 1 through Level 2.\n\n\nThe goal of this BSA Climbing /COPE Instructors Course is to ensure that you can safely manage or staff COPE and Climbing programs for your camp\, district or unit. It will help you to solidify your climbing knowledge and skills.  We will cover current policies and standards of the Boy Scout climbing program. And IT’S FUN! \nThis course is intended for anyone that is 15 and up and interested in safely teaching the basics of climbing * age exceptions with course leader’s consent* While there is an advantage to having a climbing background one is NOT required. \n  \nLodging and meals for Friday and Saturday are included. The course will be broken into 2 Weekend Sessions: \nSession 1: May 3rd 5:30pm- May 5th 5:00pm at Base Camp 411 Unquity Rd\, Milton\, MA 02186 \nSession 2: May 17th 5:30pm- May 19th 5:00pm at Base Camp 411 Unquity Rd\, Milton\, MA 02186 \n  \nYou are welcome to bring your own climbing gear (harness\, helmet and climbing shoes)\, but it is not required.  All gear that is required for the completion of this course will be provided to you. \nUpon successful completion of this course\, based on experience\, judgement and skill displayed\, you will receive a certificate as a “BSA Climbing / Cope Instructor 1 or 2.” These are 1-year or 2 year certificates respectively.
