My Wood Badge Ticket

Dear Mayflower Council Volunteers,

My name is Deb MacGregor. I am currently working on my Wood Badge ticket. My project is to gather the names and contact information for Mayflower Council volunteers who would be willing to help out by rendering first aid at events or by teaching for training of adult volunteers or youth members. By answering my survey you are in no way committing to any obligation other than that you are a volunteer in the council who is willing to help out at some time in the future.

I was approached by several leaders expressing that it is extremely difficult to find qualified adults to cover first aid stations at events, teach first aid at events, etc. I am gathering information to create a database that we can all use to help us get coverage when needed.

Please take a few minutes to answer my survey so that I can make this database for all to use.

YIS, Deb MacGregor

LIVE – Youth Protection Training (YPT)

We’ll be offering the live version of youth protection training (YPT) for adult leaders.  All our currently registered leaders should have already taken YPT in 2018, and that certification is still good for two years. But, if you have new leaders who need this training, parents who’d like to take it, or experienced leaders who want a refresher, we encourage them to come to this live training!

It covers the same material as the online course, and it offers the same credit… along with a chance to discuss and ask questions.

Pre-registration is appreciated

Membership Card & Charter Certificate Printing

The Boy Scouts of America is committed to basic operations by putting tools in the hands of volunteers.  For several years now, individuals and unit key 3 have had access to print membership cards through my.scouting. In addition, functionality will be added to my.scouting by January 1, 2019, to enable members of the unit key 3 to print their unit Charter Certificate.

This “self-service” functionality allows volunteers to print membership cards and the unit charter certificate in a timely manner and enhances the on-boarding experience for new youth and adults.

Units will need to print their membership cards and charter certificate, instructions for doing so are below.

Investment in Character Update – Feb 2019

Hello Headwaters District:

Our Investment in Character annual fundraising Campaign is underway and going well.  On January 7th, Headwaters District kicked off our efforts to raise $25,000 by May 31st.  We have been reaching out to Pack and Troop Key 3 members to ask if our team can talk to your Unit about helping reach our goal.  Several Units have been generous enough to sponsor a Scout for one year of the Scouting program with the gift of $311.65!

We want to keep everyone updated about our status along our campaign.  At the end of February we tallied up a total of $6,329.00, just about 25% of our goal!

Those who generously donate to our Investment in Character campaign with a gift of $311.65 (cost of delivering the Scouting program to 1 youth for an entire year) will receive a special edition “2019 Investment in Character” Council Shoulder Patch. In addition to one of these Council Shoulder Patches, donors who make a gift of $1,000.00 or more will also receive a Mayflower Council 20 ounce Yeti Tumbler.

If you are interested in learning more about our campaign please visit our webpage: Campaigns and Gifts

If you are interested in getting involved with our IICC team, contact us at headwaters@mayflowerbsa.org
