It is with great pleasure we introduce the identity of the Order of the Arrow Lodge serving the Mayflower Council – Tantamous Lodge. On Saturday, October 21st, leadership of the Tisquantum and Chippanyonk Lodges assembled to discuss their futures together. Aided by submissions from Arrowmen across the Mayflower Council, they choose this new name.
Tantamous was a prominent Medicine Man, powwow leader, and spiritual leader with land holdings throughout the area now served by the Mayflower Council. A friend of Squanto and the Massachusetts colonists, Tantamous later settled with his family on Nobscot Mountain; now the Nobscot Scout Reservation.
The Owl will be the totem of the Tantamous Lodge. The owl represents wisdom and intuitive knowledge which will guide us in our future as a new lodge. Furthermore, the owl is indigenous to our camps. No doubt every scout has stopped to listen to the call of an owl.
The mission of the Tantamous Lodge remains the same – to fulfill its purpose as an integral part of the Boy Scouts of America through positive youth leadership under the guidance of selected capable adults.
The development of Tantamous Lodge remains underway, and additional information will continue to be released in the near future

In 2018 the Order of the Arrow will celebrate the National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) at Indiana University from July 30th through August 4th, 2018 (we are traveling 7/28-8/6). NOAC is an awesome event attended by Arrowmen from all over the country. Attendees will stay in college dorm rooms and eat in the college cafeteria. During NOAC, attendees will have the opportunity to attend a wide range of training, outdoor adventure and activities, nightly shows, patch trading and more.
Since we have limited slots we will be doing a lottery/first signup/prioritization allocation system. For youth Arrowmen, we want to have a contingent that is representative of our members (from tenured to new). In an effort to do so, we will break the contingent into three categories: leadership in the Lodge, active Arrowmen, and new Arrowmen.
To participate in our lottery, please submit your deposit of $250 using the link below. If you’re not selected to attend and choose not to remain on the waitlist, your deposit will be returned. Please do not hesitate to contact email@example.com with any questions, comments, or concerns.
